Now in its 7th year of operation King Shaka International Airport has garnered many accolades over this short period. The airport was voted the top Regional Airport for Africa in the Skytrax World Airport Awards in 2013/2014/2015/2016, and was second in the 2013/2014/2015/2016 ACI for the Best Airport in the Middle East/Africa category. The most exciting award received so far has been voted by Skytrax for the Best Airport Staff in Africa 2017. KSIA was also voted internationally as the 10th Most Punctual Airport in the world in its category by OAG Aviation Worldwide.

As Durban is rated as the “event city” of South Africa the airport works closely with strategic partners including, eThekwini, Convention Bureau, ICC Durban, Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tourism KZN, Durban Tourism, Dube TradePort, Trade and Investment KZN and others to ensure that the airport is always ready to welcome tourists, business delegations and conference delegates on a daily basis.
