Sasol's shares fall as it postpones results announcement

JSE-listed Sasol's shares fell by nearly 16% on Friday morning after the company announced that it had postponed the release its results for the 2019 financial year to September 19. It had been due to publish its results on August 19. Sasol's board this week received a preliminary report from an independent review that had been commissioned to ascertain the factors that had impacted on the cost and schedule changes for the Lake Charles Chemicals Project, in Louisiana, in the US. This follows after the group in May announced a $1-billion to $1.3-billion upward revision in the cost of the project to between $12.6-billion and $12.9-billion. view more

Cape Town airport to receive multibillion-rand boost over next five years

The Cape Town International Airport (CTIA) is set to receive an estimated R7.5-billion capital investment over the next five years. City of Johannesburg to sell its 1 000 km fibre network

The City of Johannesburg is selling its 1 000 km fibre network through an open tender process and expects to raise minimum proceeds of R853-million and maximum proceeds of just over R1-billion. Nersa approves 13% average tariff increase for Tshwane

The Organization Undoing Tax Abuse said it plans to mount a legal challenge against the amendment of the Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences Act. The Act sets up a demerit system for drivers, who lose points for traffic offences, which may result in the loss of a driving licence.
