UNIVERSITY OF KWAZULU-NATAL GRADUATE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS
A DYNAMIC LEARNING ENVIRONMENT LOCATION
The Graduate School of Business is located on the Westville Campus of the University of KwaZulu-Natal, eight kilometres away from the Durban and Pinetown CBD. Located within an environmental conservancy, the Westville campus combines state of the art infrastructure with beautiful natural surroundings. The campus's Hindu temple and an Islamic mosque reflect its rich multicultural history.
FACILITIES
The Graduate School of Business is a dynamic learning environment that encourages student participation in the classroom and within certain school governance structures. The facilities are modern and warm, making learning a fun experience. The School has a 350 seater auditorium, a ground floor lecture theatre that seats 110, a lecture theatre that seats 70, two 30 seater training venues, 10 study rooms, a 35 seater LANand a Library Resource Centre. Wireless Internet is available throughout the building.
STAFF
The highly qualified lecturing staff bring with them many years of business and academic experience. A core of full time academics is supported by skilled practitioners from the public and private sector. The full time staff keeps abreast of the ever changing environment by conducting regular and relevant research and by providing consulting and training services to industry.
The administrative support staff ensures the smooth running of the School, they co-ordinate tests and assignments and look after students administrative welfare.
PROGRAMMES
South Africa needs both dynamic corporate executives as well as innovative entrepreneurs who will create employment and enrich the country and its citizens. The School prides itself on the programmes it offers in pursuit of fulfilling these needs.
EXECUTIVE DEVELOPMENT
A range of executive development courses and seminars are offered throughout the year. These courses give participants an opportunity to attend practical training in various management disciplines. The courses and seminars are aimed both at employees in large corporations as well as those involved in the management of small andmedium sized enterprises.
MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (MDP)
The MDP provides companies with the opportunity to grow the potential of new and aspiring managers. These employees are often tasked with taking short to middle term decisions and need skills and knowledge to make those decisions effectively. The MDP is a practical programme aimed at empowering the middle manager and provides a platformto facilitate his/ her development within an organisation. It is largely learner centred, drawing on participants' experience and inherent abilities to mould valuable leadership traits. Participants are expected to work in groups to solve real business problems that exist in their workplaces.

MASTEROF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (MBA)
The Graduate School of Business,MBA programme has been designed to provide graduates with leadership skills to function in both the corporate and entrepreneurial environments.Managing people, machines, money, merchandise and markets is not enough, understanding them and how they react when acted upon, is of greater importance. The programme provides students with the knowledge to understand management challenges and the skills to address them. Our MBA is a substantial programme that provides a balance between academic excellence and practical relevance.
OTHER COURSES
New courses are developed on an ongoing basis tomeet the challenges of the business world. The School has entered into an MOU with Constella Futures to conduct Aids Policy development courses for Government and Business Executives. The programme is run as a stand alone training programme and some components are embedded inmodules on the MBA. The BDP (Business Development Programme) was developed in conjunction with Business Partners as part of the School's corporate social investment. The BDP is run on Saturdays and is aimed at helping entrepreneurs develop quality business plans.
CAREERS EVENING
The School hosts anannual careers evening to give prospective employers an opportunity to identify the high flyers we produce.
PARTNERS
The Graduate School of Business has three partners with whom they are involved on a continuous basis.
Sanlam sponsors a portion of the regular Business Breakfasts and Executive Lunches hosted by the School.
The School is regularly involved in projects with Trade and Investment KwaZulu-Natal.
Business Partners and the GSB have jointly developed the Business Development Programme aimed at empowering entrepreneurs.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
The School is intimately involved with community outreach projects. Our regular breakfasts and seminars cater to the needs of the business community. We are also involved in charitable work. Some of our beneficiaries include: ROSSSCA, Durban Child Welfare, and BMF UKZN.
