METROFILE

Metrofile has a presence in all major South African provinces and operates from 23 facilities which cover more than 68 000 square metres and manage more than 18 billion records on behalf of its clients.
Metrofile remains the only company in Africa capable of supporting all of its customers' information and records management requirements through its comprehensive product portfolio. Offering both in and outsourced storage solutions tailored to increase operating efficiency and customer service. The company also ensures that businesses and government mitigate risk and meet legislative and corporate governance requirements consistently.

Currently, Metrofile KwaZulu-Natal employs 147 permanent staff and 30 contract employees in the province. The company recently expanded its capacity by building a third purpose-built warehouse contributing to the local economy and creating more job opportunities. Annually Metrofile KZN contributes over
R10 million to the provincial economy.
PROTECTING THE PLANET
Fully committed to environmental sustainability, Metrofile constantly strives to seek ways in which it can reduce its impact on the environment. Over the last 12 months in KZN alone Metrofile has recycled over 540 tons of paper. This translates in material terms, according to the Paper Recycling Association
of South Africa, to a saving of 1 620 square metres of landfill space, a saving of 9 180 trees and a reduction of 540 tons of coal-based emissions (CO2). Apart from these savings, Metrofile's recycling initiatives have also saved transport and handling costs to municipalities and generated jobs for local citizens.
CARING FOR COMMUNITY
Corporate social responsibility is a part of everyday life for the Metrofile group and its staff. Support is given to charities within the communities it operates and disadvantaged organisations are provided with free services, or assistance with building capacity or overcoming major obstacles.

Metrofile KZN recently assisted McCord's Hospital located in Overport, Durban with the establishment of an intelligent onsite records management system. The system, developed by Metrofile, was provided at a reduced rate and computer equipment was donated to the hospital. To ensure minimal disruption to the hospital and its patients, Metrofile installed the system over a weekend and loaned the hospital additional equipment and staff to ensure a hassle free implementation process. Not only did Metrofile build a long-term supportive relationship with McCord's, it was also exposed to the daily challenges that the hospital faces in delivering quality healthcare, making the completion of the project that much more rewarding.

The group is committed to the seven pillars of B-BBEE and is working hard at identifying and growing skills within its people and supporting them to improve skills and progress in their careers.
