Prince's Grant is a piece of paradise situated on the shore of the Indian Ocean in a natural environment that overwhelms the senses with serenity and tranquility. The estate is located 45 minutes north of Durban, 30 minutes from Umhlanga Rocks, 20 minutes from Ballito and 25 minutes from King Shaka International Airport.
Since opening in 1994 the Prince's Grant golf course has flourished just as the design team intended. The course was designed and constructed by Peter Matkovich and is considered one of his finest. The links / parkland layout, with large greens and impressive fairways, creates a completely unique and challenging experience for any golfer.
The variation in elevation, the use of natural terrain and clever bunkering along with spectacular sea views add to the success of this design. Prince's Grant is ranked amongst the top twenty golf courses in the country and also received a "Five Star Golf Experience" award in 2005.The private clubhouse at The Lodge at Prince's Grant offers Mulligan's Pub and The Bunkers Restaurant. Mulligan's bar with its panoramic views is the ideal place to enjoy your after round refreshments. The Pro Shop stocks the latest brands of golfing, leisure and kiddies attire.
Prince's Grant has also been named a site of conservation significance by the Natal Parks Board and offers nature walks, a private beach and pristine lagoon fringed by mangroves. The developers have conserved the natural environment by ensuring that all the garden areas only contain indigenous plants and trees. Over 200 species of birds are to be found including African Fish Eagles.
The Lodge at Prince's Grant offers four star accommodation with 15 rooms that overlook either the course or the sea, as well as conferencing facilities for business indabas, a simple function or an exciting beach wedding. Situated on a totally unspoilt stretch of coastline, the lodge is built on hills that were once sugar cane fields. Villas are available for short-term rentals for guests or family and the setting is completely safe for kids, with 24-hour security in place. Other facilities include squash, swimming pools, tennis and a recreation centre, while the salon offers a full range of treatments including facials, massage and body pampering.
Holiday programmes are designed to keep children entertained and is just another factor contributing to the family friendly environment of Prince's Grant.
Relaxation is easy at Prince's Grant where homes are nestled amongst the hills and designed to emulate the exclusive way of life portrayed by the lodge. The theme of the architecture is old Natal colonial, reminiscent of life in a place far removed from the busy urban life. Property owners are automatically afforded membership to the golf club.

Further a Field
The surrounding areas of the Dolphin Coast offer everything from micro light flying in Ballito to a tour of the battlefield sites of the Zulu Kingdom. The King Shaka and the Albert Luthuli memorials are also close to the estate and are great historical experiences. If it's retail therapy you're after the Gateway shopping centre at Umhlanga Rocks is not far from the estate, or one can visit the Ballito Lifestyle Centre. Isimangiliso (St Lucia), South Africa's first world heritage site and the game parks of northern KwaZulu-Natal are all within two hours drive, as are Phinda, Hluhluwe or Mkuze for that once in a lifetime game experience.
