Riya Mothilall, management development officer at Smith’s Manufacturing, visited three projects that they support via Community Chest. First stop was Pinetown Child Welfare, where we met the inimitable Mrs Pather, who explained the incredible reach and impact they have with children and families in the Pinetown area.

Then on to Whizz Kidz, where founder Deborah King hosted a tour of a lovely facility that provides educational support to children with disabilities and developmental disorders. Last stop was Horizon Farm, where manager Justin Young and nursing sister Sharon, orientated us on the residences that care for mentally disabled adults in a meaningful way; horse assisted therapy has a tremendous positive impact on their development.
