Awards: Power of finance in kzn highlighted

THE power of finance in driving economic development through the business community in KwaZulu-Natal was highlighted at the 2012 FNB KZN Top Business Awards in Durban last night.
FNB KZN regional chairperson Preggie Pillay said the bank had recently provided property finance of about R1 billion and an additional R1 billion in lending commitments to businesses in the province.
He said the awards were a key avenue in promoting the achievements of various sectors, which added value to the KZN economy.
"The KZN Top Business Awards allow businesses in various categories to be recognised and rewarded in the region.
"We congratulate all the winners and nominees. We further applaud them for their hard work and
efforts in adding great amounts of value to the KZN region."
The co-publisher of the KZN Top Business Portfolio, Lalita Dhasiar-Ventura, stressed the importance of attracting investment into the province.
"The portfolio and awards are used to raise awareness of KwaZulu-Natal's vibrant and robust economy. By showcasing success through the achievements of the various companies and organisations operating here, we also promote KZN as a first-rate business destination.
