Mzisi Magosa - A Proud Ambassador

2018-05-23

Mzisi Magosa is an enthusiastic ambassador of the African Renaissance Festival.

Magosa was born and attended school in rural Umbumbulu. He is an actor and a gospel singer and is proud to have performed for King Goodwill Zwelthini. He says, “I am an African and I am proud of my heritage. Nowadays, many of our youth forget who we are and the history that has shaped our lives. We need to do more and be proactive in resolving current obstacles to progress.”

It is because of this belief that he has been promoting the 20th year of the African Renaissance Festival to the youth of KwaZulu-Natal. Magosa is currently an actor on Imbewu: The Seed, which is a new daily drama being televised on e.tv.

Starring Leleti Khumalo, who is also an Executive Producer, Imbewu: The Seed is set in Durban and KwaZulu-Natal, with a storyline that spans from the most affluent parts of Umlazi to the humblest street in eNquthu and the township of Chatsworth.

Imbewu: The Seed reflects the unique interaction between rural and urban lifestyles in South Africa. It also showcases the conflicts between home and corporate settings and the emotional tension created by the
economic gap between the haves and the have-nots.

Anant Singh from Videovision Entertainment and Duma Ndlovu from Word of Mouth Pictures are at the helm of the production of the show. Singh commented “Imbewu: The Seed reflects the multicultural environment which makes Durban and the province of KwaZulu-Natal unique. The show has the ability to cross the cultural divide and promote social cohesion in South Africa.”
