Corobrik:Meet the new Corobrik Centre area sales' manager

2014-10-27

His comprehensive understanding of building products; keen eye for detail and quality customer service are just some of the reasons Corobrik’s Indren Munsamy will be heading up the team at Corobrik’s new Ballito Centre opening in October.

Originally a satellite office based in Salt Rock, the North Coast’s rapid growth created a need for a fully-fledged Corobrik branch in Ballito to supply residents and developers in the area.

Anyone wishing to build anything from a braai place to a new home can walk into the store at Ballito Service Park, Gourlay Drive where they will be met by either Indren or one of his knowledgeable staff members, all of whom are trained to give advice on what product to use.

From a range of face bricks which would suit your home, clay or concrete paving, together with the concrete retaining block system the staff will provide insightful and personalised attention to each query.
For 28 years Indren has gained extensive experience at the 112-year old organisation, working his way up the ranks from factory clerk at Corobrik’s Briardene factory to his latest position as area sales’ manager, North Coast based at the new Ballito Centre.

He said Corobrik was always a company he aspired to work for because of its great products, reputable work ethic and care for its staff.

“My late father Jimmy Munsamy and Uncle Loga Manikam each worked for Corobrik for 42 years. My sister Thilo who currently works in the marketing department, has worked for Corobrik for 26 years,” Indren said, emphasising the organisation’s family feel.

In 2002 Indren was promoted to area sales manager East London, Ciskei and Transkei, and his family moved from their Phoenix home to East London where he opened the new Corobrik Centre.
It was here that he received the coveted Corobrik award for best area sales manager/centre manager in 2003, with a further four nominations in following years.

In 2007 he transferred to Corobrik’s Port Elizabeth branch as area sales manager. He relocated back to his beloved home of KwaZulu-Natal earlier this year where he has been managing the Empangeni and Salt Rock centres and is now looking forward to his next adventure, overseeing the Ballito Centre and developing the north coast sales territory under the leadership of Chris Mungle and Allin Dangers.

“The new centre will have a much wider range of products and we will be increasing the stock holding from 40 000 to approximately 250 000 bricks,” said the enthusiastic manager.

He said it was Corobrik’s quality products, technical expertise, logistic capability, follow-up service and the support of the entire Corobrik team that sets them apart.

“My family is still in PE but they will be joining me next year. Indren is looking forward to spending quality family time with his wife and three children.

When Indren does have a spare moment from managing staff, assisting customers and overseeing stock, he enjoys surfing the TV channels for sporting events, especially soccer, cricket and Rugby and supports his much-loved Sharks.

Ends.
