SUNCOAST keeping up with the trends!

2014-10-23

Durban’s premier entertainment destination, SUNCOAST recently scooped three remarkable awards in a row. Keeping up with trends and exceptional guest service, SUNCOAST has remained supreme in various industry awards.

SUNCOAST is proud of its reputation of being named “Best Casino” in a number of prestigious awards. Carrying this impressive title throughout its lifespan, SUNCOAST was awarded for the 11th consecutive year the “Best Casino” title in the 2014 Daily News Your Choice Awards. SUNCOAST also came out on top once again in the KZN Top Business Portfolio Awards being recognised as the top business in the Tourism category for the fourth consecutive year.

It doesn’t end there; SUNCOAST has been leading the business sector for the Best Casino/Entertainment centre in KZN for six consecutive years, winning a Silver Arrow award in the PMR Africa awards earlier this month. The PMR Africa Awards winners are selected based on a research process whereby companies and institutions are rated based on respondents’ perceptions, with a strong focus on evaluating and measuring customer service and customer satisfaction.

Executive Director Mike Dowsley said SUNCOAST was extremely proud of these incredible achievements and extended their gratitude to the public who voted. “Through hard-work, determination and dedication, we have sustained our ultimate goal of being Durban’s premier entertainment destination,” said Dowsley. “I have to commend staff for working well as a team and providing the best experiences and service to guests,” he added.
Located along the ‘Golden Mile’, SUNCOAST boasts an array of thrilling entertainment and dining options. Catering for all ages and interests, the complex offers a mix of indoor and outdoor activities as well as superb events to keep guests entertained. Some of the major events include the decadent food festival Taste of Durban, Mercury Wine Week - Durban’s premium wine show and the renowned Tops at Spar Bierfest. On the line-up to entertain Durban once again at SUNCOAST is the popular Adult Panto show and the return of the magical Madame Zingara.
SUNCOAST also considers CSI an important focus, having partnered with Vukukhanye as their primary CSI project for the past five years. The staff visit the non-profit organisation based in Chesterville on a monthly basis through community upliftment initiatives, which have assisted the community at a social, environmental and economical level. This year, over R1 million has already been donated towards various CSI projects within the Chesterville community as well as other non-profit organisations. Aside from the monthly visits and contributions invested in the community of Chesterville, SUNCOAST has recently donated R4.5 million towards an extensive expansion project at the Nsimbini Primary School in Chesterville. The project is part of a development which will see a state of the art support service centre and additional classrooms built to increase the scope for early childhood development. SUNCOAST continues to strive to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate.
