Accolades to KwaZulu-Natal's BPO industry

2009-11-11

Business Process enabling South Africa KwaZulu-Natal (BPeSA KZN) in partnership with Trade & Investment KwaZulu-Natal, the official provincial investment promotion agency (TIKZN) will host a black tie Annual Contact Centre Awards ceremony at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Convention Centre (ICC) on Friday 16 October 2009. The event’s keynote speaker is Dr Ray Ngcobo, Deputy Director General, Department of Economic Development and Tourism.

BPeSA KZN in partnership with TIKZN work hand in hand to promote the province of KwaZulu-Natal as the worlds premier Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Contact Centre destination and to facilitate the establishment and functioning of centres through research, implementation programmes and practical assistance.

Key strategies of BPeSA KZN include:
  • Creating an environment conducive to the establishment of call centres.
  • Market KwaZulu-Natal as the preferred destination of call centres
  • Offer one stoop facilitation service to prospective call centres
“South Africa offers a strong value proposition to the international BPO market”, said Jayson Naidoo, Board Chairperson, BPeSA KZN. He went on to say, “In particular KwaZulu-Natal offers the advantage of lower seating costs compared to any other major South African city, neutral English accents, a high standard of education and lifestyle benefits that ensure that agents are able to recharge after working in an intense customer service and sales environment”.

The industry body enjoys significant support from key industry players and local government bodies ensuing that organisations outsourcing to the region can rest assured that they will receive the best that South Arica has to offer. “Five powerful Call Centres currently operational in Durban and surroundings were successfully facilitated by TIKZN”, said Zamo Gwala, Chief Executive Officer, Trade and Investment KZN. “Examples of these are Rewardsco, Bizworks, Unlimited world, BPO Interaction and the Longain group”.

Other sponsors of the event include Avaya, Knowledge Executive, Dimension Data, Bizworks, Kelly, Emmanuel’s and the Department of Economic Development and Tourism.
