He spends his days living every child’s dream- sampling the latest toy products and befriending iconic characters.

Toys R Us’ much loved mascot, Geoffrey the Giraffe has been capturing the imagination of children for decades, bringing them excitement through toys and play.

“Geoffrey is an iconic symbol of the joy that toys bring and imagination coming alive through play. The fun-loving, playful character has become a friend to youngsters for generations,” says Nicole Annells, Marketing Manager, Toys R Us South Africa.

Toys R Us stores across South Africa have been home to the popular character since 1996.

Recognised by his red t-shirt and distinctive starry coat- which represent the magic of the Toys R Us brand- Geoffrey brings added excitement to children’s visits to the retailer’s stores through his in-store appearances.

Adding to the joy of the Easter season, Geoffrey is once again set to delight his fans by embarking on a national road show.

“Geoffrey will be visiting various Toys R Us stores across the country, where children will have the opportunity to meet their favourite giraffe, have pictures taken and receive his autograph,” says Annells.

Geoffrey will kick off the road show on Saturday, 19 March, visiting selected stores across the country until 2 April.

All appearances will take place from 10am to 11am and children can meet Geoffrey at the following stores.

23 March- Watercrest Mall

26 March- Cavendish Square

28 March - Nelspruit

2 April- Arbour Crossing
