Tsogo Sun is thrilled to announce that Samantha Croft, the General Manager of the Southern Sun Elangeni & Maharani Complex has been recognised by CEO Communications Africa’s Most Influential Women in Business and Government as the continental winner in the Tourism & Leisure sector.

The award is a culmination of various gruelling and robust judging processes with an estimated 11 500 entrants from the across the African continent. Croft successfully breezed through the national  and regional leg and went on to represent the SADC region as a continent finalist, competing with other regional winners from Mauritius, Zambia, Kenya, Uganda, Egypt, Ghana and Cameroon.

“We are extremely proud of Samantha, she is a shining example to everyone and a great brand ambassador for service excellence in our industry,” said Mike Jackson Tsogo Sun Hotels, Director Operations KZN Region.

Displaying exceptional leadership skills at the Southern Sun Elangeni & Maharani Complex, one of the groups over 90 hotels and 14 casinos and entertainment destinations, and earning titles such as leading woman in the corporate sector in KwaZulu-Natal by the KZN Businesswomen's Association, Croft, has undoubtedly displayed the strength of woman leadership in a male dominated industry.

“I believe that it takes a great team to succeed in any business, I wouldn’t have done this without them. I am so honoured to be a recipient of such a prestigious award and I am so grateful to my team for their hard work and commitment,” says Croft.

The announcement was made at the gala dinner held at Gallagher Convention Centre, Johannesburg. With over 600 attendees, this was truly the opportune time for Africa to Unite. Hosted by Derek Watts and entertainment by Yvonne Chaka Chaka added more sparkle to an already star-studded event.

Nominations are now open for 2015 and can be submitted online or via email.
