Driving seven million rand worth of cars around is not a bad way to spend the morning, which was the case for 20 Absa bank clients, as they took part in the Ride and Drive initiative at BMW Supertech Durban on November 1.
Guests spent an exhilarating day test driving several cars on display, ranging from the 1 series, to the 7 series, as well as the X3 and X6, with many leaving in awe and appreciation of the latest models that are available for sale. The biggest interest was given to the jaw-dropping 6 series available, as well as the 7 Series and X6 which were both 4.4l V8 biturbo‟s.
Guest arrived at South Africa‟s leading BMW dealership, to register, get acquainted with each other and proceed to the board room for a presentation by Supertech Durban‟s Financial Director Mahomed Sader. The presentation focused on the new dealership as well as the much anticipated M launch, scheduled for the end of the year, and the i launch next year. Guests were treated to a delicious meal at the iconic in-house restaurant Isetta, before getting ready for their test drives.
Absa client Marike Keller, said the 7 Series was like driving on air, one of the most exciting driving experiences she has had. Battling to pick a favourite from the four cars she test drove, Keller said she enjoyed her time at the dealership.
“This is the first time I am visiting Supertech, and I am very impressed. I love the friendly staff and the comfortable environment.”
Another Absa client, and avid car enthusiast, Tyne Hugo, said he was in love with the X3.
“I must admit, I always thought the X3 was a sub-par car, but after driving it, it is absolutely brilliant. It is sporty, luxurious, everything you would want in a car, and I was definitely wrong about it.”
